I am an engineer, author, and founder of Copperhill Technologies, with decades of experience in embedded systems and industrial communications.
I have written extensively about Controller Area Network (CAN), SAE J1939, embedded systems, and related technologies. My technical books have been used by engineers, developers, students, and educators around the world.
This publication is where I share practical engineering knowledge without limiting myself to a single technology or product.
What I Write About
My primary interests include CAN Bus, SAE J1939, embedded systems, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, industrial and marine communications, electronics development, and the practical problems that arise when hardware and software meet the real world.
Some articles will be detailed technical tutorials. Others may be engineering notes, experiments, observations, or discussions of technologies I find interesting.
Much of the material will be freely available. I will also publish selected in-depth material and resources for paid subscribers.
Why This Publication Exists
I have always enjoyed writing about engineering, but traditional technical books require a considerable commitment before anything reaches the reader.
Here I can publish differently: one useful subject at a time.
Some of these articles may eventually develop into larger engineering guides or books. Others will simply stand on their own. The objective is the same in either case: practical technical information based on real engineering experience.
I also want this to be a place for discussion. Subscribers are welcome to comment, ask questions, and exchange ideas about the technologies covered here.
